50's retro girl

When I saw this retro girl over at Lacy Sunshine I just had to get her and colour her, I have always loved the 50's style of clothing and this image just called out to me...

I just had to colour her up in the black and pink scheme (not hard to tell I was a an 80's baby) because of the whole "Grease the movie" thing. Who didn't love the black and pink scheme.

Here is the rest of the card

Just a few papers and two very sparkly butterflies but I don't think she really needed anything else.
Thanks for the visit....

Progressive Challenge

Just a quick post to show off my entry for the progressive challenge that is being held over at Art by Mirin https://www.facebook.com/groups/artbymiran/?fref=nf

Part of the rules with this challenge is that you need to use the image and create a card with her. I chose to do a springtime inspired entry with a pretty blue dress like the spring sky and pink flowers because what else says spring like pretty pink flowers.

I must admit that even though she was my first image I have colours from Art by Mirin I really enjoyed her so I think more will have to be on the to get list.
Thanks for the visit....

Winter Bliss

Lacy Sunshine are currently running a challenge themed Winter Bliss over on their challenge blog http://lacysunshinechallengeblog.blogspot.com.au/ and there is already some great entries so be sure to pop over and check them out.

I have designed my entry with a bit of a frosty theme because up here in Queensland the worst thing we get of winter is frost, and sometimes it can be very beautiful to see the sun glinting on the frost early in the morning.
Ihave made my card entry using the too cute fairy_godmother_sugi image

Her dress has been coloured with copic BV08 BV13 BV04 BV02 BV00 for the purple section and BG09 BG13 BG01 BG11 for the teal sections. Both of these colour reminded me of the frost and chill of a winters morning. I added a few sparkles to her dress and hat because who doesn't love a bit of sparkle.
I finished off the card with an inked doiley and two little tags I cut to show off the greeting....I don't say it enough, But it really is true, You're the best, and I Love You...and finished with three little flowers that I coloured with my copics to match the image.

Anyway I hope you stop by the challenge blog and check out all the entries or why not enter yourself.. Thanks for visiting...

Rio and her Penguin

Tried something a bit different for me here... My first try at dark skin and hair, up until now I have always done fair skin and I have always been looking for a image to try darker skin but I didn't have anything I thought would suit it until I got Rio and her Penguin from Simply B Stamps.

I have just added a simple black glittery border and the quote "Love doesn't make the world go round, Love is what makes the ride worthwhile" by Franklin P Jones. I don't think this gorgeous image really needs anything else, I wanted her to be the focal piece of this card..

Thanks for stopping by have a great day...

Princess

This card started when my 4 yr old daughter noticed this image while I was colouring another image I had on the same page,

"Mummy can you colour the princess please"

So the princess it was to be, and what other colour to do than pink since she is liking pink and purple at the moment. (Don't worry the 2 yr old put her order in to but I am yet to finish it)..

I really like this little image (I think it is from the greeting farm) she is very cute and could work for so many different occasions

I must say that I am really liking the cheery feeling of this card and love how the butterfly ended up being on just the right spot of the paper.
Thanks for the visit.. Just one more to show for today...

Another from Friday afternoon

While I made this at the same time as the last few it has a different feel about it and so thought it deserved its own post. I purchased this decoupage image from craft-u-print ages ago and just didn't get around to making it up into card format till now.

Because I take images to make away with me when we go visiting I have a little box of images that only really need to be put onto cards to be finished, I find it too much hassle to try and take everything I might need to make the finished product with me so I just do the toppers.

Thinking now I just need a little gold greeting to go across the top and it will be done.

Thanks for visiting...

Got busy this weekend

So I got a fair bit of craft done this last 4 days.

First up I made some card with the kiddies using some decoupage images I had done previously.

I'm really loving the cricket theme with these and the bright and cheery colours. I haven't decided on the greeting for the grandpa cricketer yet, I will have to keep a look out for something.

We also made this at the same time as our cricketing friend above,

I'm still trying to decide whether to trim this one or not.

And while these may not be a fancy as some of the coloured card I must admit I still had a very enjoyable afternoon making and create with the 2 little ones..
Thanks for looking..

Lacy Sunshine Facebook Challenge

So there is a challenge over on Lacy Sunshine's Facebook page with the theme of "Stitched" using the gorgeous image of "Georgie Giraffe". He is the cutest little image like all of the stitched series Lacy Sunshine have just done....

Part of the requirements for this challenge is that you need to include some other stitching to go with the stitched image, so I have stitched a little border around 'Georgie'.
It seems to me that 'Georgie' really lends himself to a card for a newborn so I have used a pretty pink and blue theme for him with this is mind.

And to finish him off we have added a little banner with Congratulations on it. The banner is anchored by 2 button stacks made by sticking 3 buttons of different size together with sticky dots.

I must admit it was quite fun making this one with the 4 yr olds help we got quite a kick out of making the button stacks in particular.
Thanks for viewing and till next time happy makings

Tiddly Inks Design Team Call

While I may be a little late to the party.....Tiddly Inks Stamps http://tiddlyinks.blogspot.com.au/ are having a Design Team Call and entries close tomorrow 15 January 2015.

At first I was all excited because I absolutely love Tiddly Inks digi stamps, they are gorgeous, then I got nervous and talked myself out of entering, telling myself that my cards were nowhere near as good as some of the entries I had seen, but with only one day to go I decided that if I didn't enter I would regret the missed opportunity.

So here she is my entry for the January 2015 Design Team Call

I was thinking at one stage to do something really fancy like I see so many others do but then I decided that I was better sticking with my own style and doing something I love.

The digi stamp I decided on was Annie's Heart and while she may not be as detailed as some of the wyrn stamps I think there is a sweetness and purity about her which I wanted. I have coloured her with copic markers, colours below, and cut her out to make her the feature of the card.

Colours Used:
Skin E50 E51 E21 E11
Hair E41 YR31 E43 E44
Dress and Hairband BG01 BG02 BG05 BG07 BG09
Heart and Shoes R22 R24 R29
Flower R22 R24 R29 Y17 Y19 Y38 (the yellow doesn't show very well in photo but it is normally visible through the gem)

I added the "True love stories never end" as a verse as well as the prop for my easel to sit against. By using this verse I have left the occasion this card could be used for fairly open Valentines, Anniversary, Wedding, even Mothers Day or a Birthday perhaps.

By creating this sort of easel card postage should be a minimum because she only comes in at 14.5cm square.

I have a blast creating this card and we will wait and see if I make it onto the Design Team, if I am lucky enough then it will be my first Design Team and I can't wait for the challenge it will bring.
Here's to hoping, best of luck to all the other entrants....

Ppinky 1000 Celebration

Ppinkydolls Official Group on facebook is having a 1000 member celebration at the moment and when you colour up any Ppinky digi and post it into their celebration album you will receive a new princess digi they have created......
Unfortunely I had a little bit of trouble with some sticky markers on our little girl here but other than that I think they turned out reasonably good, this was my first Ppinky digi and they have a fair bit of shading so are a bit different to colour...

I am thinking I will put these pair on a pencil box I have ready for decoration, I will have to post them when it is finished but till then thanks for the visit and happy crafting

Colour Palette Challenge

So Kit and Clowder https://www.facebook.com/groups/kitandclowder/ and Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps are having a colour palette challenge at the moment using the Green Moth Maiden digital stamp. Here is my entry for the challenge....
I decided to go for a nymph like creature which is why I went for the green skin. I wanted to give her a fantasy sort of appearance.I will eventually make her into something but not sure what yet as she is quite a big image, A5 to be correct, I am thinking maybe something off the page, hmmm food for thought...

This is the colour palette we had to use for inspiration...

If you are looking for a challenge why not head over to Kit and Clowder and gave the free digi and give her a go yourself.

An oldy I did

Here is a card I did a few weeks ago but it turned out reasonably well....

I really like the little doors on the front something a little different to my normal cards.
The gorgeous paper is from a paper pad from Wild Rose Studio that came free with issue 134 of Quick Cards made easy

To make I just used a A5 bit of card folded in half for the blank card then cut the little doors to fit my image.
Next I cut the paper to the size I need to fit the card front.
This is where things got a little trickier as I wanted the paper to go over the doors so I had to cut the middle out of the paper for my card front using a sharp knife.
Once done with that I affixed the paper with it hole in the middle to the card front and cut the other piece in half and affixed to the little doors then affixed this to the card front to cover the area where I cut out the piece of paper.
I finished it with a white and green circle matted together which I plan on added my greeting to when required.

Why not have a go and try this yourself I had a heap of fun creating this.
Thanks for visiting...

More from Tuesday

And finally here is the other card I worked on Tuesday afternoon.

Lineart by Jade Dragonne http://jadedragonne.deviantart.com/

I love this ladies work and it is always an enjoyment to colour her images.....

The make itself was reasonably easy but I love the outcome

1. Matted a white square of paper on red square and put onto card blank
2. Matted patterned paper onto same red
3. Matted white rectangle onto same red
4. Cut out and added image with foam squares
5. Will add a greeting when I am ready to send card to match the occasion

Hope you like her and thanks for visiting..

First Cards of 2015

Snuck into the kitchen to do some crafting yesterday and here is what I produced....

My first card for the year 2015. Hopefully the first of many many more.

The image Sweetheart Marci from LaLa Land is one of the first ones I coloured when learning to colour with my copics and while my colouring is heaps better now I still wanted to make her into something

When I give her I will put a greeting along the bottom of the white area to suit the occasion.

Hope you have enjoyed her and thanks for visiting
